A man was identified in the framework of a case for threats made against the British ambassador in Argentina started last April and his home was raided by the Argentine Federal Police (PFA), which seized various electronic devices to be analyzed, sources from that force reported.

The operation was carried out by members of the Anti-Terrorist Investigation Unit Department of the Federal Investigations Superintendence of the PFA, at the request of an order from the National Federal Criminal and Correctional Court 1, in charge of Maria Romilda Servini.

According to the sources, the investigation originated as a result of a complaint made by ambassador Kirsty Hayes on April 14, due to a publication by a Twitter user of a photograph of him with his daughter on which they had drawn a gallows on their necks.

After a detailed analysis and field tasks carried out by the feds, it was possible to individualize and identify the user of that Twitter account, whose address, located at Calle Juan Díaz de Solís at 400, José C. Paz, was raided in the last hours, the spokesmen added.

The identified He is Argentine, of legal age and a native of said Buenos Aires town and, at the time of the procedure, he was with his family.

In the raided house, the police seized electronic devices related to the case under investigation, which will be subjected to analysis and expert reports, the sources detailed.

By court order, the suspect must appear in the next few days at the Servini court, to be questioned in the framework of the case labeled “threats.”
