This Australian spider is now also crawling around in the Netherlands

It has eight legs, is a few centimeters tall, and now lives in the Netherlands: the Australian house spider! As the name suggests, the animal originally comes from Australia, but it has recently been spotted in various places in the Netherlands.

The spider is mainly found near plant shops and garden centres. This is probably because they have hitched a ride on plants that have been transported to other countries.

Dangerous?

Are you a huge spider hater? Then you don’t have to worry. Many spiders from Australia can be dangerous, but this one isn’t.

Which animal has been spotted in the wild in the Netherlands?
