Jérôme and his wife live in a high-risk area and no longer want to run from it. They came to inquire at the flood lounge after experiencing several surges of water: “There was 90 centimeters of water. It’s impressive, it is necessary to equip yourself.“
In the aisles of the show taking place in Tournai, there are innovations of all kinds that serve to protect themselves. Among the most impressive: a “porte” metal that reduces damage to a home. In the event of a flood, it deploys on its own and operates thanks to a system of floats. Éric Bourgignon, manager of a flood protection company, explains: “It deploys very quickly and efficiently because it has 99.9% water retention.“
A great barrier that comes at a cost. It will take 5,000€ to protect a door and 15,000 for a garage.
