Cologne – The name of the show literally says it all in “Because they don’t know what’s happening,” because Thomas Gottschalk (73), Barbara Schöneberger (49) and Günther Jauch (67) aren’t even on the RTL show the slightest idea of what program items await them. On Saturday evening (December 9th) the plan was to bake cookies – which Thomas Gottschalk took as the perfect opportunity for a nasty comment about Barbara Schöneberger’s outfit.

In addition to an illustrious career on television, Thomas Gottschalk has also made a name for himself among many viewers with his loose mouth – and is known to not shy away from small taunts against his colleagues. In the latest edition of “Because they don’t know what’s happening,” the presenter, who celebrated his big farewell to “Wetten, dass..?” at the end of November, was in a good mood again and appeared baking cookies with Nico Santos (30) and Laura Wontorra (34) brandished the wooden spoons, showing his mischievous side.

“Do you have any pockets where you can even put cookies in the front?” Thomas Gottschalk, who is holding a tray full of raw Christmas baked goods, wants to know from Barbara Schöneberger and the cult blonde replies: “Nothing fits in my overalls anymore, Not even a sheet of baking paper.” The TV veteran can’t resist a cheeky comment at this point. “Not even you,” he jokes – causing laughter from his moderation partner and the studio audience.

On Saturday evening, Thomas Gottschalk delivered another memorable moment on “Because they don’t know what’s happening”, which he had to thank, of all things, for his smartwatch. Because the presenter got down on his knees while trying to scrape up kitchen scraps from the floor, the accessory’s alarm function turned on. “Fall detected, emergency services are called. “What is she doing there?” Gottschalk wondered, creating a cheerful mood among his colleagues. “Really?” Günther Jauch was amused, while Barbara Schöneberger joked: “The emergency doctor will come and pick you up soon!”
