Three cases of omicron detected in Barranquilla

The omicron strain is detected in Barranquilla. This Saturday, the District Health Department verified that two cases involve local citizens and one involves a non-citizen staying in the city.

Officials stated that the individuals are recuperating without any issues.

The Department confirmed that Barranquilla exhibits stable pandemic management metrics, with positivity rates fluctuating slightly over the past week.

Currently, this rate stands at 15%, while hospital occupancy and intensive care unit utilization for covid-19 patients are at 0.4% and 3.4%, respectively.

During December of the previous year, nine days passed with no fatalities attributed to the virus.
