Music composition is not within everyone’s reach, or at least not yet… Because TikTok is testing a service called Ripple which, using AI, intends to remix your humming into real music.
This new application from ByteDance, the Chinese giant behind TikTok, is still in beta testing in the United States, but its project is no less ambitious: thanks to generative AI, Ripple intends to allow you to create a hit with just your voice.
The app will allow you to transform your humming into various instrumental tracks: piano, electric guitar, etc. What’s more, will also generate accompaniment in the genre of your choice through AI.
The music remained until now rather difficult to generate for the IA. In comparison, generative models were much more advanced when it comes to image or text. But in recent months, the frenzy of artificial intelligence had also begun to take hold of the fourth art with generators such as MusicGen, from Meta.
A new wave in which ByteDance is therefore launching, which wants to give the image of a good student on the question, because the company has decided to adopt a very transparent posture on the question of intellectual property, by not using apparently only royalty-free or company-owned tunes to train the Ripple model, according to Engadget.
