On the Blazers side, we had been sailing on sight for weeks. Given the uncertain future of Damian Lillard, the franchise indeed had its ass between two chairs: rebuild the workforce and hope to restart the machine or bring in a star to support the leader in the title race. A puzzle to which the person concerned apparently ended in person, by asking to be transferred a few hours ago.
It seems to be said though, because Oregon’s front office doesn’t seem to know what to do after picking Scoot Henderson and Rayan Rupert in the draft. Blatant example, the case of Jerami Grant who had just returned for an XXL check at Rip City. However, according to the recent information relayed by Michael Scotto, that would not be a guarantee of its maintenance on the spot!

Another potential trade to watch involves Jerami Grant, who agreed to a five-year, $160 million deal with the Blazers before the team received news that Lillard wanted to leave Portland. Grant was expected to attract interest from several teams during free agency, including the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers.
So in the space of a few days, Jerami Grant could find himself extending at a high price in Portland before finally having to pack his bags anyway. A somewhat grotesque situation for the player, but not sure that the franchise can still save the furniture on this subject. Indeed, the astronomical amount allocated to the winger risks putting off more than one negotiation partner at this stage:

Will leave, won’t leave? While he thought he had closed the file by extending to the Blazers, Jerami Grant finds himself again in uncertainty. A priori, however, there is little chance that a franchise will give in and set up a trade for him, as his XXL salary may constitute an obstacle to negotiations.
