Tineco Toasty One test: touch screen and toast

Consumption

To situate the beast a bit, we decided to compare it to our own toaster, a fairly basic model, but with a power adjustment wheel, a defrosting mode and two slots for toast. Our equipment is not the most premium, it is not possible to use only one of these. We therefore launched the toasting of two slices of bread at the same time at minimum power, another test at medium power and a final one at maximum power.

In fresh bread mode, our toaster consumed 0.013 kWh, 0.036 kWh and finally 0.050 kWh. For its part, the Toasty One needed 0.009 kWh, 0.030 kWh and finally 0.049 kWh. In defrost mode, our reference device consumes 0.019 kWh, 0.035 kWh and finally 0.067 kWh. As for the Tineco model, for the same exercise, it “gobbled up” 0.014 kWh, 0.040 kWh and 0.059 kWh. In a nutshell, the differences are insignificant.

Assuming the toasting of six slices of fresh bread each morning, the use of the Tineco Toasty One will cost just under 19 cents per month. Note, however, that the Toasty One adapts its energy needs. Indeed, by throwing the fence in only one slot, consumption (if not halved) is much lower.

A final word on the consumption of the Tineco toaster while waiting for orders. It rises to 2.7 W and becomes zero when it is turned off using the main switch. For your information, our personal toaster consumes nothing when not in use.
