We will start providing information and selling insurance products through insurance agents. 1.background
In recent years, the Metaverse, a virtual space on the Internet, has been attracting attention as a place for new communication and economic activities. JR East will open the world’s first Metaverse station VAW* in March 2022, and is working toward social implementation of the Metaverse, such as providing new services that utilize virtual space.
Tokio Marine & Nichido and JR East have so far collaborated in new business areas such as MaaS (Mobility as a Service), and have taken on the challenge of developing new services and solutions that will lead to the resolution of social issues and the development of both companies’ businesses.
This time, Tokio Marine & Nichido, Anshin Life and JR East will collaborate in the Metaverse, an area that is expected to develop in the future, and will start a new insurance consultation and sales model that utilizes the Metaverse space.

2.Initiative overview
Tokio Marine & Nichido and Anshin Life will open the Tokio Marine & Nichido VAW Insurance Consultation Office and VAW/Flying Car Race on VAW operated by JR East. Tokio Marine & Nichido, Anshin Life Insurance, and JR East will provide content that enables new experiences by taking advantage of the features of the Metaverse, which can create a virtual space that differs from the real world.
① Tokio Marine & Nichido VAW Insurance Consultation Office
Insurance agent avatars will respond to insurance-related inquiries from customers at the consultation office established by Tokio Marine & Nichido and Anshin Life at VAW. In addition to product explanations in the Metaverse space, it is also possible* to purchase insurance using online procedures such as the Smart Raku Raku Procedure.
By utilizing the Metaverse, we will provide a new customer experience that reduces the psychological burden of insurance consultations and enables casual insurance consultations and considerations.

It is a game aiming to become the fastest VAW racer by driving a flying car. After the game, we provide a driver diagnostic report that analyzes the customer’s driving tendency according to the player’s operation method.
In the game, you can use fictitious non-life insurance and life insurance to gain an advantage in the race, making it a game content that allows you to experience the characteristics of insurance in a fun way.

JR East opened the original virtual space VAW in March 2022 as part of the “Beyond Stations concept” to convert stations into a “connected” living platform. VAW virtually reproduces the station and town of Akihabara, a world-famous content gathering place, and is a space that can be easily experienced from a smartphone. Furthermore, by connecting the virtual space with real assets such as stations and trains that many customers use, we will make the virtual more familiar. Through VAW, we will direct the connection between people in both real and virtual.
