“It’s cursed, people tell me it’s a curse,” said Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea manager, after being asked about the number 9 shirt that the Blues refuse to wear despite being a special number.
The number became a curse that immediately struck Chelsea strikers, choosing to wear it, or so everyone in the club came to believe. “No one wants to touch this number, I am superstitious, and I can understand why the players do not want to wear the shirt,” Tuchel said.
The last person to carry this number with Chelsea is Romelu Lukaku, who was waiting for the Blues fans to break the curse, but he apparently confirmed it before he moved to Inter Milan in a season-long loan deal.
