Mali and Guinea find themselves before the stage of history to face the fight once morest terrorism declared, Wednesday, Morissanda Kouyaté, the Guinean Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Bearer of a message from the Guinean President of the Transition, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya, Morissanda Kouyaté, spoke following an audience granted by the President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi Goïta.

“Today, Mali and Guinea find themselves before the stage of history to face a dangerous phenomenon, which is terrorism”, explained Morissanda Kouyaté before recalling that since 2012, Guinean contingents have been contributing in this fight once morest terrorism in Mali. Kouyaté specifies that “very soon a major development in this area will be observed”.

The Guinean diplomat further stated: “The President has therefore instructed me to reiterate his commitment to follow the path traced by the founding father [Ahmed Sékou TOURE]. Colonel Goïta has shown the way to the reconquest of African dignity”.

According to him, “everything that happens in Mali happens in Guinea” adding that: “before ECOWAS (Community of West African States), the African Union, the United Nations, there is this called the immediate neighborhood. Guinea, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal are countries in the immediate vicinity”.

He also specified that the Guinean President and his Malian counterpart are working to “revitalize, dust off these relations and put them at the service of our peoples”.

Morissanda Kouyaté however recalled that Mali and Guinea have already strengthened the road, rail, air and river corridors.
