The European version of the new Prius plug-in hybrid is equipped with a 2.0-liter in-line 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 152hp. The motor mounted on the front has a maximum output of 163hp, and the entire PHEV system draws out 223hp of power.
The battery is a lithium-ion battery with a storage capacity of 13.6 kWh. The cruising range in EV mode is expected to reach a maximum of 69km for European specification vehicles. Equipped with an optional solar roof, it is expected to have the effect of extending the cruising range by up to 8km.
