(CNN Spanish) — Tropical Storm Otis is moving towards Mexico and threatens heavy rains to the southwest and parts of the south of the country, according to the 9:30 pm (local time) report from the National Meteorological Service of Mexico (SMN).

According to the report, at that time Otis was located approximately 265 kilometers south-southwest of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, and 425 km south-southeast of Acapulco, Guerrero, with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h, gusts of 100 km /h and movement towards the north-northwest at 11 km/h.
