Tracy Gotoas: “Making people aware”

At 26, the star of Émilie Carpentier’s first feature, L’Horizon, connects the projects. Looking forward to more…

In L’Horizon, you play Adja, a young caregiver who joins a ZAD. A life choice you can understand?
Tracy Gotoas : I was already a little aware of the subject by my mother who encouraged me to pay attention to the way I consume. But the shooting was a real click. With some actors from the film, we created the association Magic Planète and we collected waste in the streets to raise awareness. It allowed us to meet and talk.

The most memorable scene of the film?
The end one. Marking as an actress, but also as a spectator. It wasn’t easy to do and once the director said “cut”, I saw the emotion of the whole team. It was a feeling that was very impressive to me. It was the first time it had happened to me.

Who do you dream of shooting with?
Ryan Murphy !

For what ?
Since I was little I have not stopped watching what he does… I have always admired his directing and that he puts all types of people in his works – regardless of skin color and age. .

Your next roles?
Season 2 of Robbers starts on Netflix on February 17th and then I’m in theaters in March in Sage homme, by Jennifer Devoldere, alongside Karin Viard and Melvin Boomer.

Your relationship with fashion?
It’s a sweet sin! Ever since I was little, I’ve loved clothes because it’s a space where you can create and collaborate with your own body.

What has changed in cinema over the past two years?
The entrees. People no longer go to the cinema as they used to, especially with the rise in prices. Then I go through increasingly diverse castings with completely different roles that aren’t necessarily related to my skin color.

And how do you imagine the cinema of the future?
I hope we will keep our huge screens! Long live the room! I may be utopian, but I want us to continue to tell our truths and that everyone can express themselves as they see fit. So a cinema that brings people together.
