It was an unspeakable tragedy which took place this Friday in Thulin, near the station.
It was around 7 a.m. this Friday morning when the tragedy occurred. While crossing rue du Maïeur Jean Duhot on the pedestrian crossing, a 24-year-old young woman lost her life.
According to our information, while she was pushing the stroller in which her child was, the young Quiévrainoise was unable to avoid one of the two tractors which crossed paths. “From what I know, the two vehicles crossed paths but one of the two had not seen the young woman crossing,” Eric Thiébaut, mayor of Hensies, told us, still in shock at the news. . “Unfortunately he was unable to avoid the lady who died at the scene.”
Contacted, the Hauts Pays police confirmed the circumstances of the tragedy. “One tractor stopped to let the lady cross but not the other”, confirms the Hauts Pays police. “The victim was not crushed by the agricultural machine but was thrown by the tractor and died following the impact.
