Two horses died after being hit by a car, while they were wandering on a roadway, this late Tuesday evening, when it was completely dark.
According to our colleagues from France Bleu, the accident occurred in Mansigné, in the Sarthe department, southwest of Paris. The worst is that this tragedy could or should have been avoided. For what ? Because according to France Bleu, the owner of the animals has already received orders several times to redo his fences. This is in fact not the first time that his animals have roamed freely in the area: “ Cows, sheep, horses of a local owner, who is reluctant to redo his fences,” deplores François Boussard, the mayor of Mansigné.

Unfortunately, it was one time too many. This Tuesday evening, while returning from his basketball practice, the driver in his forties hit two of the four horses that had fled. “The windshield exploded, the car is in a deplorable state,” explains the Mayor.
One animal died instantly, the other had to be euthanized. More than a dozen firefighters responded to the scene to help the injured driver, who was taken to Le Mans hospital.
