A 24-year-old woman in Chongqing, mainland China, did not answer the phone after a video call with her parents on her birthday. She only sent a message to express that she was very busy at work. Later, her relatives went to the rental house to check and found that no one was there, so her family members immediately called the police for help. After subsequent police investigation, it was discovered that the woman’s 25-year-old neighbor broke into the house, robbed her, and killed her. According to comprehensive reports from mainland media, a 24-year-old woman named Yu from Nan’an District, Chongqing, mainland China, stayed in Chongqing to work after graduating from college in July 2023 and lived in a public rental housing in “Jiangnan Waterfront”. On her birthday on December 11, after having a video chat with her parents, she stopped answering the phone and only replied with messages saying that she was busy at work.
Later, because her parents were worried, they asked relatives to check Yu’s daughter’s rental house. Unexpectedly, she was nowhere to be found. The rental house was a little messy, and the sheets and pillowcases were missing. After the parents learned about it, they went to the Changshengqiao Police Station in Nan’an District to call the police for help in the early morning of the 21st.
According to police investigation, it turned out that Yu had been killed by a 25-year-old male neighbor named Dai. After subsequent police interrogation, it was learned that on the evening of December 12, Dai Nan knocked on the door, entered Yu Nu’s room, robbed her, and killed her. The police have currently criminally detained Dai Nan in accordance with the law, and the entire case is still under investigation.
