Thursday afternoon, Jacques and Hilda cross the tram tracks near the Maria-Middelares hospital in their Ferrari Monza 296 GTB. A place unfortunately known for its faulty traffic lights for quite some time now.
“We were crossing the street, very slowly, but the signaling for the tram exit was broken,” says Hilda. That’s when things go wrong and a tram hits the Ferrari. “I suddenly looked to my right and thought to myself: I’m done.”
Having been out of its garage for only two months, Jacques and Hilda’s Ferrari is now seriously damaged. The couple also emerged injured from the accident.
“My husband injured his knee and broke a rib,” says Hilda. “I received a blow to the neck. All we can do now is rest and take painkillers. It could have been a lot worse.”
