The report sanctioning the transfer of powers from the national gendarmerie to the Ministry of Security and Public Order was signed on February 3rd. In the Republic of Congo, the gendarmerie is now attached to the Ministry of Security and Public Order. The transfer of authority between the Minister of National Defence, Charles Richard Mondjo, and that of Security and Public Order, Raymond Zéphirin Mboulou, took place on February 3 in Brazzaville. It is an implementation of Law No. 5-2022 of January 26, 2022 relating the National Gendarmerie to the Ministry of Security and Public Order. The report sanctioning the transfer of powers was signed by Charles Richard Mondjo and Raymond Zéphirin Mboulou, in the presence of the various components of the public force. The objective of this decision is to strengthen the means of combating delinquency, urban and peri-urban violence as well as increasing local security.
