Transition: Dr Bernard Goumou does not reassure!!!

The least we can say is that the Guinean transition is bogged down. It is true that the Prime Minister, according to the constitution, is the guarantor of social dialogue. But in Guinea, we do not dialogue with opponents, under the magisterium of Colonel Mamady Doumbouya, we dialogue with his friends, camouflaged under the “label” of political leaders or civil society actors with a civil society in the pay of Dansa Kourouma of the National Council of the Transition.

But in the specific case of the head of the Guinean government, Dr. Bernard Goumou, things seem to be off to a bad start and for good reason. Smart whoever will say if the head of the junta, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya has set himself the objective of leaving power. It does not take any action that contributes to the organization of free and transparent elections.

Political scientists and fine observers of national political life have said and hammered home. In the Guinea of 2023, it is difficult, if not impossible, to talk about the organization of elections without tenors of the opposition whose names are Sidya Touré and Cellou Dalein Diallo. What about civil society activists, especially the FNDC, Oumar Sylla and his companions in misfortune who have been languishing in prison for 8 months?

So what does Colonel Mamady Doumbouya do to bring the lines closer?

In any case, the dialogue initiated by the head of government without the leaders mentioned above is struggling to find its bearings. On the contrary, we are talking about development projects and not the organization of elections. Smart, the one who will say the “compass” that will guide Guineans towards free and transparent elections.

Consequence of this situation, investors, Guinea’s development partners are waiting and watching, but for how long, while the high cost of living has reached worrying proportions.
