The Bottom Line
- Jennifer Worthington, a former senior vice president at Jerry Bruckheimer Films, and former NBC executive George Kliavkoff are producing the venture through Two Dice Media.
- The inaugural events will take place June 4-6, 2027, at San Antonio’s Henry B. González Convention Center and Sept. 4-6 at the San Diego Convention Center.
- Organizers state the conventions are apolitical gatherings focused on honoring service members, veterans, and military families.
Two Dice Media Founders Target Military Subculture
Jennifer Worthington, whose past film credits include Black Hawk Down, The Rock, and Armageddon, has teamed with former NBC executive George Kliavkoff to build a live entertainment platform for the armed forces community. Operating under their media and hospitality company Two Dice Media, the pair are applying convention models typically reserved for pop culture fandoms to military history, technology, and service stories across every branch.
The venture steps into a specialized sector populated by existing trade forums like Defense One and MCON, a large expo held in Las Vegas in partnership with Military Times. Military Con aims to broaden that reach by integrating interactive experiences, live demonstrations, gaming competitions, and Hollywood figures discussing military storytelling alongside the service members who lived through those events.
Event Structure Planned for San Antonio and San Diego
The conventions are structured around a three-day narrative progression divided into “The Call,” “The Mission,” and “The Return.” Attractions will feature “Hardware Alley,” a dedicated space showcasing military aircraft, vehicles, and equipment.
The venture launches at a time of public debate regarding U.S. military conflicts overseas. Harry Humphries, military director for Military Con, addressed the event’s stance in remarks reported by hollywoodreporter.com, stating, “Military Con is not a political event. It’s about honoring the men and women who have served our country and the families who have supported them.” Humphries added that the advisory board remains apolitical.
