Two hundred women from Dabou screened for cervical cancer

Dabou- Two hundred women were screened on Sunday March 20, 2022, at Leboutou modern high school in Dabou for cervical cancer.

This activity is an initiative of the Women’s Association of Gbougbo 2 (AFUG2), a district of the commune, which has included it in the health component of its program entitled “Physical well-being of women, for a safe development in all levels”.

This campaign, funded by Speak Up Africa through the “Essential Voices” project and the Channel Foundation, was the choice of the said association, because according to its president Toh bi Melia Ernestine, many women unaware of their status had to go from life to death. It is therefore for the sake of “enlightening these women on their status before it is too late” she specified.

Also, she asked the authorities present to take care of women declared carriers of cervical cancer after screening.

The municipal councilor, Sanogo Aissata, encouraged AFUG2 to hold this screening which works for the well-being of its members. For her, “monthly contributions, child baptisms, marriages, bereavements, empowerment cannot be the only reasons for the existence of a women’s association”, because these initiatives are worth nothing without health ” .

She therefore congratulated the AFUG2 team for this salutary initiative.
