Dubai: UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has died. His death as president of the United Arab Emirates since 2004 was announced by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs on Friday followingnoon. He was 74 years old.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been elected the second President of the United Arab Emirates following the death of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Father of the Nation and the first President of the United Arab Emirates.
He was the Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces and Chairman of the Supreme Petroleum Council.
