Anyone over the age of 19 in Toronto can now place orders from licensed cannabis retailers through the Uber Eats app. Leafly said this is the first time cannabis has been home-delivered through a major third-party delivery platform. Leafly also said that the age of the customer who is ordering will be verified. Instead of Uber drivers, retailers’ staff will deliver cannabis to homes.

After opening the Uber Eats app, customers can choose where they want their cannabis from. Then the verification process to check their age needs to be completed. You can choose the cannabis products of your choice from the menu. When the retailer accepts their order, it will be notified through a notification. The user’s age will be re-verified when the delivery driver arrives.

Leafly owners Marisa and Dale Taylor said in a joint statement that the new venture is a great way to expand their operations and grow their business across the city. Lola Kassim, General Manager of Uber Eats Canada, explained in a news release that the partnership with Leafly will help provide people in Toronto with a safe and convenient option to purchase legalized cannabis products through home delivery.

“Over the past few years, we have invested heavily in our delivery business. UberEats has rapidly grown into a versatile platform that can be used for a wide variety of transactions, large and small,” the company added.
