Kuwait City: An Arab expatriate was arrested for selling fake tickets through commercial accounts on social media platforms in Kuwait. The accused was arrested during an investigation by the Cyber ​​Crime Department of the Criminal Security Sector, General Directorate of Criminal Investigation.

The group led by the accused used to commit online frauds including falsifying mobile phone number contracts and registering under false names. The fraud was carried out using WhatsApp, which operated using fake commercial accounts. Their method is to send bank links saying that they are selling concert tickets and then withdraw money.

In this way, it is clear that the accused have cheated many persons. Then the accused was caught through a well-planned operation. During the search, authorities found more than 75 mobile phone lines and five devices used to manage fake accounts.

Revising driving license documents of non-residents

Kuwait City: Instructions to check the documents of expatriates who obtained driving license in previous years in Kuwait. The archives of all governorates and traffic departments of the country will be examined.

After completing the cancellation of driving licenses in six governorates, it has been directed to check all driving licenses of non-residents. Hundreds of non-residents were found who did not comply with the conditions for getting a license. The department canceled the license of those who had surrendered their license to the administration.

Local media reported that the investigation was initiated following complaints that unqualified persons had obtained licenses illegally. Six traffic departments have received instructions to cancel driving licenses used in violation of rules and regulations. About 14 lakh driving licenses have been issued in Kuwait. Out of this, 8 lakhs have been won by non-residents. Expats need to work for at least two years, earn at least 600 dinars and have a degree to get a driver’s license.
