Prostate cancer is one of the male tumors that generally affects men after the age of 50. Prostate cancer begins when cells in the prostate gland begin to grow out of control.

In this context, Dr. Hassan Al-Fakahani, Consultant in Dermatology and Venereology at the Minya Faculty of Medicine, revealed that prostate cancer is not a type of hereditary cancer, but rather a common type of cancer in men after the age of 53 years, where a type of enlargement of the prostate begins to occur, which is a type of chronic inflammation. Therefore, it leads to cell changes and the formation of cancer.

He added in a special statement to “Youm 7” that prostate cancer rarely gives symptoms of its presence in the body, explaining that it is very easy to diagnose through simple tests that are supposed to be done every 6 months for men, and prostate enlargement is one of the most important signs of the possibility of cancer. Therefore, treating enlargement from the beginning and avoiding chronic inflammation helps prevent prostate cancer.

The doctor explained that prostate cancer is treated by performing an easy surgery in which the prostate is removed while preserving the nerve, and there are electronic robotic surgeries, but the problem is that the disease can appear late, by which time it has spread to other places, and most of these places are the liver and bones.
