On Monday morning, the Liège public prosecutor’s office and the examining magistrate were downhill in a small park, the Emile Wilket garden, located at the top of rue Wazon, in the Saint-Laurent district in Liège, where, shortly before 5 a.m., a dead body had just been discovered. The Liège police, for their part, quickly set up a security perimeter around the said park.
Information confirmed, Monday, shortly before noon, by the Liège prosecutor’s office. “An inanimate body was discovered during the night”, explains Catherine Collignon, First Deputy Prosecutor of the King of Liège in charge. “It was a man who, in the middle of the night, wanted to go for a drink in this park who discovered the lifeless body near “his” bench. The prosecution and the investigating judge descended on the scene. »
It is currently impossible to know what exactly happened. All hypotheses are therefore possible. One of the first tasks will be to determine if there are traces of the intervention of a third party.
