The president of the powerful union behind the strike invited US President Joe Biden to a picket line.

The president of the powerful United Auto Workers union announced on Friday the extension of the strike at manufacturers General Motors (GM) and Stellantis for lack of progress in negotiations, while “real progress» were carried out with Ford.

Shawn Fain said GM and Stellantis’ 38 parts distribution centers in the United States were expected to stop work as of midday (4 p.m. GMT) on Friday. He also invited President Joe Biden to join a picket line.
