The tool, which allows access to certain Windows 11 features and options, has reportedly leaked information about its existence to Microsoft. The latest preview builds of Windows 11 come with frequent bug fixes. Users who sign up as Windows Insiders are invited to participate in feature testing and issue tracking called “quests.” As part of this quest, it turns out that Microsoft has released the StagingTool. However, the fact that the quest in question was quickly withdrawn from the Feedback Hub makes it appear that Microsoft unintentionally published it. According to information shared by Xeno (@XenoPanther) on X (formerly Twitter), the quest included a download link as well as a description of internal tools for testing (see “Xeno’s Post “Some quests include a valid link to a staging tool that appears to be like vivetool”/X”). The quest referring to the StagingTool has now been removed, but it seems easy to find the tool online. Betanews says you can get it if you look for it.
