The ending of a superhero:inside movie is often very surprising and leaves us with a cliffhanger. But we don’t always get to see the originally planned finale. Also with the new one DC adventures of the super-fast Flash became equal two alternative endings filmed.
We have already explained to you in a separate article what the current end looks like. But now we want to address the question what conclusion for “The Flash” originally was planned.
Warning, spoiler alert!
1st alternative ending: Keaton and Calle as Batman and Supergirl
While we finally see George Clooney as another Batman variant in the finished film, according to “Hollywood Reporter” Michael Keaton should actually appear again on this occasion. His sensational return as Batman is one of the highlights of this film and although his character dies in the battle against General Zod in the alternate world, he should have lived on in a new timeline.
The same goes for Sasha Calle as Supergirl as well. Her reappearance at Keaton’s side was also scheduled for the closing scene outside the courthouse.
This would also have laid the groundwork for announcing Keaton as Batman in further productions. He would also have starred in the now withdrawn film Batgirl, as well as in a planned animated series called Batman Beyond. It remains to be seen whether there will be at least one guest appearance in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”, which will be released shortly before Christmas this year.
2nd alternative ending with Cavill and Gadot
The second alternative ending should have played in front of the courthouse as well. This time Keaton and Calle would also have been joined by Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot as Superman and Wonder Woman. But after the DCU was completely redesigned by James Gunn and Peter Safran, such cameos were dispensed with.
As we now know, Cavill is not set to return to his legendary role. Therefore, at the special request of Gunn and Safran, the current ending was filmed. George Clooney got a preview of “The Flash” and then decided to make a cameo appearance.
Gadot fans can still be satisfied, since Wonder Woman at least stops by briefly towards the beginning of the film.
