The National University of Villa Mercedes (UNViMe) obtained financing to guarantee the last three years of the Medicine degree. The amount of the investment is $269,440,439 and will allow the most advanced students to continue training to be future professionals.

The management was carried out by the current rector, Marcelo Sosa, before taking office with the former Secretary of University Policies, Oscar Alpa, and the former Minister of Education of the Nation, Jaime Perczyk.

“In this way, we ensure that the children have teachers for the fourth, fifth and sixth year of Medicine, which is a new and strategic career for the country, and which is in the DNA of the founding of UNViMe, ago just over 14 years,” mentioned the rector of the institution.

Sosa also said that she met with students to find out what specific aspects to work on and which could be improved. “After this dialogue we came to the conclusion that by listening to them we would find the best solution to the problems. One of them, for example, was the lack of teachers; another, the need for infrastructure; another, that they want teachers from the province of San Luis and not that they have to travel to the province of Córdoba to take classes,” she noted.

In this sense, the rector commented that on Wednesday they signed an agreement with the Judicial Branch of the Province of San Luis so that medical students can use the Judicial Morgue to carry out their professional practices, something that they could not do until now. moment and that will be immediately applicable for the 2024 school year.

“In this way, we see that the disciplinary training of the children is enriched. I am very happy because we are bringing the university closer to the institutions. It is something that fills us with pride, because it was something that had been pending for years and we were able to formalize it,” expressed the highest authority of the house of studies.

The financing includes not only the payment of the almost sixty teachers required by the degree, but also a kinesiologist who will work with biosimulation, so that the amount of financing that the institution will receive will rise to approximately 300 million pesos.

“I view the current context with great concern, because I see that they are going to repeat the new budgets, which also will not have adjustments for inflation; this motivated the rectors to express our concern because this would indicate that we will be able to pay salaries until the month of May; it is something very serious and we have to be extremely careful with the university’s resources,” said Sosa.
