New Delhi ∙ Returning Officer Justice MM Kumar has announced that the governing body election of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) will be held on August 12. Maharashtra state unit of the federation was also disqualified. This is the 2nd postponed election due to issues related to disqualification of state constituents.

Submission of nomination on August 1. After scrutiny on 2nd, the list of candidates will be published on 7th. If there is more than one candidate, it is decided to hold the election on the 12th. BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who resigned following the sexual allegations of wrestlers, cannot contest this time as per the National Sports Policy.

The reason is that 12 years have passed in the presidency. However, it is known these days whether Brijbhushan’s son and UP Wrestling Association President Karan will be in the competition this time.
