The spin-off of one of last year’s biggest hits won’t hit theaters until December, but is already starting its promo.
Tatsuya Endô’s manga has made a remarkable entrance into the world of anime. It must be said that the original was already on a very high footing, since its pre-publication started on the side of the Shōnen Jump+ platform in 2019. Spy x Family has already sold nearly 20 million copies worldwide, including more than a million in France.
This lightning success is explained by its original scenario, mixing action and humor, and by its choice to orient the story around an astonishing blended family. Two spies who ignore each other, a telepathic little girl and a medium dog, all very endearing, have brought the success of the manga, as well as the anime.
Let Anya cook
Jointly produced by CloverWorks Studios (Bocchi the Rock!) et Wit studios (The attack of the TitansVinland Saga), already at work on the series, the film is only scheduled for a release date of December 22. However, it already offers itself a first short trailer, featuring each member of the Forger family.
The scenario of this spin-off film promises to be as delirious as it is full of adventures, with the participation of little Anya in a cooking contest, which will take an astonishing turn. Clearly, nothing ever goes as planned in Spy x Family.

Upcoming family reunions
The anime’s first season garnered a number of awards, boosted manga sales (like Jujutsu Kaisen, in particular) and marked the spirits with its opening. This triumph resulted in two logical developments. First, with this film, but especially with the arrival of a season 2 of the anime, currently under construction, which should be released next October. As with the feature film, director Kazuhiro Furuhashi will once again be at the helm, guaranteeing high quality in these future screen adaptations of Spy x Family.
