Upcoming Urban Boulevard set for Major Traffic Modification on April 3rd.

Starting this Monday, April 3, a new phase of the project to turn the E25 into an urban boulevard between the Monsin dam bridge and the Atlas bridge will commence. The new plan will maintain two lanes for each direction of traffic, but those traveling towards Visé will have to use the new roads in the central part. Despite this, access to shops and businesses located on avenue Georges Truffaut will remain available.

The speed limit will remain restricted to 50 km/h in the direction of Visé until the end of the year. Access to the E25 will still be possible through the Pont Atlas hopper. To reach the shops and businesses on avenue Truffant, drivers will have to take the right lane, heading towards Visé and following the designated signs. Those approaching from roads perpendicular to avenue Truffaut will no longer be able to travel towards Visé, with only access via Avenue de Lille and Avenue de Jupille remaining available.

It should be noted, however, that from June onwards and for approximately a month, it will no longer be possible to join the E25 towards Visé from avenue de Lille.

For those heading towards Liège, the situation remains unchanged, with two lanes still accessible on the Meuse side, limited to a maximum speed of 50 km/h. Drivers coming from perpendicular roads to avenue Truffaut will no longer be able to turn left towards Liège and will instead be directed to take interchange no. 6 “Jupille” to access the E25/A25 towards Liège.

The final road configuration will become mostly accessible by the end of the first half of 2024. However, space for active modes and the last traffic lane on the Meuse side still needs to be created, with the project expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

From this Monday, April 3, a new phase of the project to transform the E25 into an urban boulevard between the Monsin dam bridge and the Atlas bridge will begin. Two lanes will still be maintained per direction of traffic, but users traveling towards Visé will use the new roads in the central part. Access to shops and businesses located on avenue Georges Truffaut will of course remain guaranteed.

Until the end of the year, the speed will remain limited to 50 km/h in the direction of Visé. Access to the E25 will also remain possible via the Pont Atlas hopper. From a practical point of view, to access the shops and businesses on avenue Truffant, you will have to take the right lane in the direction of Visé and follow the signs that will be put in place. As for users coming from roads perpendicular to avenue Truffaut, they will no longer be able to go towards Visé. SeOnly access via Avenue de Lille and Avenue de Jupille will remain possible.

However, it should be noted that next June, and for a period of approximately one month, it will no longer be possible to join the E25 towards Visé from avenue de Lille.

For users heading towards Liège, the situation does not change and two vgeese will remain accessible on the Meuse side with a maximum speed limited to 50 km/h. Users coming from roads perpendicular to avenue Truffaut will no longer be able to head towards Liège via left-turns and will therefore always be invited to take interchange no. 6 “Jupille” in order to take the E25/ A25 towards Liège.

The final road configuration should be mostly accessible from the end of the first half of 2024. It will then still be necessary to create the space dedicated to active modes and the last traffic lane on the Meuse side. The project should be fully completed by the end of 2024.

In conclusion, the project to transform the E25 into an urban boulevard between the Monsin dam bridge and the Atlas bridge is entering a new phase from Monday, April 3. While two lanes will still be maintained per direction of traffic, users traveling towards Visé will use the new roads in the central part. The project will continue until the end of 2024, with the final road configuration accessible from the end of the first half of 2024. Access to shops and businesses on Avenue Georges Truffaut will remain guaranteed throughout the project. We hope that these changes will improve traffic flow and make commuting safer and easier for everyone.
