“My job is to bring structures into the club so that the next step can be successful in the long term,” Jürgen Tröscher said in an OÖN interview after his presentation as the new sports director of the Upper Austrian league team Union Dietach at the end of September. A little more than half a year later, the dreams of promotion to the regional league have evaporated for several reasons – and Tröscher has also quietly and secretly ended his work in the third highest league in the state, as the OÖN learned.
When asked, the ex-sports director of Vorwärts Steyr simply said: “It’s just not possible in terms of time. And the conditions have also changed. It makes no sense to be there now in the hot phase when it comes to planning for the coming season to be.”
Tröscher to Wels?
Tröscher could join another club from the summer onwards: He should be one of the candidates for the vacant position of sports director at regional league team SPG Wels. The team from the trade fair city finally wants to write sporting headlines again after parting ways with sports director Harun Sulimani: Today the Welsers welcome the Young Vikings.
