US military plane crashes in Norway during exercise

The American tiltrotor V-22 Osprey crashed in the Norwegian province of Nordland, the TV channel reports. NRK referring to the lifeguards. Four people were on board, their fate is unknown.

The aircraft conducted a training flight from the city of Bodø as part of the international military exercises Cold Response. He was supposed to land at about 18:00 local time (21:00 Moscow time). Three hours later, rescuers located the crash site south of the city.

Cold Response is a NATO exercise that has been taking place in Norway since March 14th. They involve 30,000 servicemen from 25 NATO member countries, as well as Finland and Sweden. NATO maneuvers have been held in Norway since the 1950s, with regular Cold Response exercises first taking place in 2006.
