“I would love to travel to the States, but as of today it’s not possible and there’s not much I can do,” said Djokovic: “It’s up to the US government to make a decision on whether they let unvaccinated people into their country.”
Currently, only vaccinated people are allowed to enter the country.
In Wimbledon, Djokovic can also compete unvaccinated, as he did at the French Open (out in the quarter-finals against Rafael Nadal). In January, the 20-time Grand Slam winner flew to the Australian Open in Melbourne, but was then expelled from the country after a lot of hiccups.

The prospect of not being able to compete at the US Open is an “additional motivation for Djokovic to play well at Wimbledon,” he said.
