US Response to China; 26 flights canceled US Suspends 26 Chinese Flights Over Covid Cases

Washington: The United States has responded in kind to China, which has canceled US flights due to Covid. The American government has announced that 26 services from the US to China by four Chinese airlines have been canceled.

The services of Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Xiamen have been cancelled. These are the services from September 5 to 28. Earlier, China had canceled 26 services of American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines in the name of Covid.

US has canceled 19 services from Los Angeles and seven China Eastern services from New York. China has announced that if four percent of the total passengers on the flight to China are confirmed to be infected with Covid-19, one service will be canceled and if eight percent of the passengers are confirmed to be infected with Covid-19, two flights will be cancelled.

Since the start of the Covid pandemic, China and the US have been at loggerheads over air services. Three US airlines and four Chinese airlines operate around 20 weekly services between the two countries.
