Venna Melinda and Ferry Irawan both filed for divorce on the same date. Venna Melinda chose to withdraw her lawsuit according to the direction of the panel of judges.
Thursday, March 2, 2023, a hearing was held to withdraw Venna Melinda’s divorce claim from Ferry Irawan. The panel of judges at the South Jakarta Religious Court recommended that one of them withdraw the lawsuit because the contents of the petition were the same.
“Today’s hearing is related to Venna’s case as plaintiff. Coincidentally, last week the panel of judges gave an order because there are two lawsuits that are the same, and both want a divorce. So it would be nice if one of them was revoked. So we are considering whether we should withdraw it,” said his lawyer Venna MelindaNoor Akhmad Riyadi met at the South Jakarta Religious Court, Thursday (2/3/2023).
Noor Akhmad admitted that he only filed an application for revocation of the case. However, the divorce trial for Ferry Irawan and Venna Melinda will continue, but referring to Ferry Irawan’s lawsuit, which entered the case first.
“Today the only agenda is to enter the application for repeal, the panel of judges will also read it immediately regarding the revocation of the case. But for 595 (Ferry Irawan’s divorce application to Venna Melinda) it will continue. We are the defendants and we will still file a counterclaim,” he said .
Venna Melinda did not lose by withdrawing this divorce suit. Everything is still the same, both parties still want a divorce.
“Nothing at all because both of them want a divorce. Except that one of them doesn’t want a divorce, then there’s a loss. (What’s the difference in Venna and Ferry’s lawsuit) The real difference is, if it’s from the female version it’s a divorce suit, if it’s a talak divorce from the husband, ” he explained.
The contents of Ferry Irawan’s divorce request made Venna Melinda object. In the divorce application, Ferry Irawan did not include domestic violence issues. This made Venna Melinda plan to sue Ferry Irawan regarding domestic violence.
“(The party there wants a divorce) That’s right, we also agree, the point is that Ms. Venna has no objection to the lawsuit, only her objection is that there is no domestic violence problem, while the issues are developing and the facts are happening at the East Java Regional Police. Later we will also sue the problem Domestic violence is also being sued by Pak Ferry,” he said.
Divorce trial Ferry Irawan and Venna Melinda will be held again on March 9 2023. Both parties will mediate.
