2022 has been a tough season for the Mercedes F1 team. Mercedes F1, which has won eight consecutive constructors’ titles, introduced an innovative concept called “Zero Pod” with a new generation F1 machine reborn as a ground effect car.
However, Mercedes F1 was busy working to find a solution to the W13 porpashing / bouncing, and only one victory for George Russell, a new member of the F1 Brazilian GP in the penultimate race, retreated to 3rd place in the ranking. Lewis Hamilton, who went winless for the first time in his 16-year F1 career, slammed the car as ‘I never want to drive it again’.
Toto Wolff, team representative of Mercedes F1, says that “DNA” will change in W14, the F1 machine in 2023.
“Next year the DNA of the car will change, it’s obvious,” said Wolff.
“That doesn’t necessarily mean that our bodywork will look very different, but part of the DNA of the car, the architecture of the car will definitely change next year.”
