While one policeman arrests the accused, the other man points a gun at the parents inside the sweeper and instructs them to come down. After much effort, the accused was arrested along with his parents. There are no injuries to the policemen or the accused.
The accused’s father has been charged with attempting to endanger police officers, obstructing arrest, and committing dangerous acts. The 48-year-old mother has been charged with obstructing the police officers. Both have been asked to appear before the Criminal Division of the Caledonia Court, according to a press release issued by the VSP.
There is a stream of appreciation for the police officers who handled the incident very carefully on social media. ‘The officers did their job with great restraint. They approached people with great care. And made sure no one got hurt,’ commented one.
