Wall Street opens lower as bond yields soar

US stock indexes opened lower on Friday, dragged down by growth-related stocks and technology stocks as bond yields soared at the end of a volatile week.

The industrial index fell 14.3 points, or 0.04 percent, to 34569.24 points.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened, down 6.1 points, or 0.13 percent, to 4,494.15 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 66.8 points, or 0.48 percent, to 13,830.474 points.
