Wardogs Season 3: New Urban Map, Limited Mode, and Progress Overhaul

Bulkhead Studios is recalibrating the Wardogs experience, moving away from the rapid-fire progression that defined its second season in favor of a more deliberate, rewarding grind.

On November 12, 2026, the studio will launch Season 3, an update that introduces a new urban map, a restructured unlock system, and a shift toward longer seasonal cycles designed to address significant player dissatisfaction.

The centerpiece of the update is Sabatulo, a compact urban environment built specifically for high-intensity, short-range engagements. The map’s architecture—defined by narrow corridors and tight corners—forces players into immediate contact. For the first time since the game launched, all players will receive access to a new map simultaneously to ensure everyone learns the new content at the same time when the season begins.

By centering the season on this shared discovery, Bulkhead Studios aims to recapture the tension present during the game’s initial launch.

The studio has been candid about the failures of Season 2, admitting that an accelerated progression system undermined the game’s fundamental loop. “With Season 2, we reacted too quickly to feedback and overshot the mark. The Wipe didn’t feel like a true fresh start for many because others progressed too fast,” a developer statement explained. “Season 3 is about restoring the value of the journey to the next unlock.”

To resolve this, Season 3 will implement a longer grind through the early and mid-game stages. A new “Multi-Track Unlocks” system is being introduced to solve a specific frustration: the requirement that players master certain roles simply to access specific gear. Under this new framework, players can unlock items like panzer-breaching .308 ammunition by playing as a pilot, bypassing the need to reach level 140 in the WARDOG path.

To provide an alternative for players unable to commit to the extended grind, Season 3 will include a “Limited Mode.” This mode enforces strict equipment caps to maintain an early-game feel: armor is restricted to Tier 2, ammunition is limited to types such as FMJ, and high-tier vehicles, such as the Havoc, are removed from play. This mode is intended to offer a balanced experience that remains accessible throughout the season.

The update also changes the game's cadence. Bulkhead Studios is moving to a new three-month cycle for seasons, providing players more time to reach milestones before the next wipe. This extra time is also intended to allow the development team to prepare larger-scale updates more thoroughly.

Alongside these structural changes, the studio is deploying enhanced anti-cheat measures and general stability improvements. While the broader scope of the update is now clear, the complete patch notes for Season 3 have not yet been released.
