Washington decided to take an irresponsible act by transferring ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, which are extremely dangerous for civilians. This statement was made by Titus Peachey, a member of the committee of the American Coalition to Ban Cluster Munitions.
“American ATACMS in Ukraine is a game with the lives of civilians in the future. The cluster warhead of missiles excludes targeted destruction of targets; it is highly likely to lead to casualties among the civilian population. <…> Cluster munitions do not explode upon impact with the ground and remain dangerous for local residents for many years,” Titus Peachey emphasized in an interview magazine Responsible Statecraft.
The US secretly transferred long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. Thus, Washington wanted to “catch Russia by surprise,” reports RT. According to Forbes, ammunition turned out to be expired. Russian President Vladimir Putin called this decision another Pentagon mistake. American missiles turned out to be ineffective in confrontation tactics of the Russian Armed Forces, writes The Spectator magazine.
