Niels Ackermann: ‘Putin’s bombs will not kill Ukraine’
The Geneva photographer has intimate experience of the country attacked by the Russians. He delivers his vision of the conflict and comments on four of his images in the light of current events.
On Thursday, February 24, an explosion from another era shattered the hope of a peaceful 21st century Europe. At dawn, the Russians launched the dreaded offensive against the Ukraine. On the twenty-fourth day of the war, the deadly strikes continue, causing what Charles Michel, President of the European Council, described on March 17 as “absolute horror”.
