WEi “I’ll show you a youth that can go anywhere if you’re afraid”

“I tried to express youth who comfort each other’s anxiety and troubles and move forward together, not just a young youth.”
On the 29th, the group WEi returned after 8 months with the 6th mini album ‘Love Part 3: Eternally’, which marks the end of the love-themed trilogy series.
In a recent interview at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Wii introduced, “In this album, I drew love for myself, not love for the other person.”
The title song ‘OVERDRIVE’, in which member Daehyun participated in the songwriting, is a song that depicts a message of consolation for the anxious youth with a refreshing yet vague band sound.
Daehyun said that the members were the biggest inspiration for this song.
“While working on the song, I thought of the members the most. The goal was to include our love story. I worked on the song while imagining what it would be like when we faced a difficult task and encouraged each other and overcame it.”
Member Yohan said, “I felt that it was a song that contained the epitome of youth at our age.”
He explained, “Even if there is fear or anxiety, if we hold hands and leave together, we can go anywhere, and it contains a message of self-love that we can leave in search of ourselves.”
In addition to this, 5 songs including ‘At the End of the Day’, ‘Your Planet’, ‘Thriller’, and ‘Be Alright’ were included in the album.
Daehyun said, “It contains music of various genres, from Latin music to R&B and dance songs.”
Wei, which debuted in 2020, is a six-member group composed of members from idol survival audition programs, such as Kim Yohan from Group X1 and Kim Dohan from JBJ.
Those who are about to reach 1,000 days after their debut look back, saying, “We have actually accomplished a lot of the goals we only dreamed of when we first debuted.”
“Seeing that I held a solo concert and successfully completed two world tours, I feel that time flies.
After debuting, Wii, who had not been able to go on stage due to the pandemic, introduced himself as a youth overflowing with challenges and excitement about it.
“Since I had a lot of thirst for the stage during the pandemic, I feel that the stage I go on after that has become more precious. I want to continue promoting for a long time without forgetting this feeling. My goal is to enter the Billboard ‘Hot 100’ someday.” (Donghan)
