What Claudio Di Tella said about the 70 dining rooms that exist in Cipolletti

Inflation hits all sectors and Cipolletti is no stranger to the situation the country is going through. In the city there are currently several dining rooms distributed in different sectors. According to the mayor Claudio Di Tella after the pandemic, the economic situation has worsened and many families have been left in a vulnerable state.

In the city, the demand for food in the neighborhoods grows quietly, so every day a group of neighbors organizes to prepare lunches, snacks and even provide shelter to the families that come to these spaces.

Currently in the city there more than 77 dining rooms and picnic areas. Each dining room prepares between 50 and 100 meals per day to be delivered, which means that more than three thousand residents come to these spaces in search of food.

the quartermaster Claudio Di Tella referred to this situation and explained that in Cipolletti there was always a high number of canteens, but after the pandemic others emerged. He said “the economic situation of the country and the one hundred percent inflation that we have today worries society, and obviously deteriorates wages. This produces an economic gap and many families were left in a state of vulnerability.”

The Secretary of Human Development and Community Promotion, Viviana Pereyra He explained days ago that they supply more than 77 kitchens, but there are others that do not receive help because they are self-sufficient.

He stated that during his tenure “they have not stopped issuing monthly food,” but They proposed a new way of optimizing resources so that the budget can reach. “Our budget is finite and there are merchandise that are not essential and this year we chose not to deliver them, this allows us to buy more of others than if they are necessary,” Pereyra said.

In addition, he explained that as a municipality they seek to accompany the canteens and complement the demands, but not fully satisfy them because there are no resources. “We know that the situation is difficult, but we complement and accompany. Those who are in charge are political, social, sports, or neighborhood organizations, ”he said.

The economic crisis impacted the lives of hundreds of people; The increase in the prices of the family basket, the lack of work and the loss of the purchasing power of wages has caused hundreds of families in Cipolletti to seek assistance in community spaces to be able to bring food to their homes.
