O LITTLE F5 is among us with a refurbished design, promise of more performance, greater energy efficiency and the same quality already known in the brand’s products. However, what has really changed since the launch of LITTLE F4? Do we have more of the same or do we already have news that would justify a new release? See this comparison between POCO F5 and POCO F4 and find out what has changed.

We analyzed the technical sheet, tests and other materials that we created with the two devices to identify what were the changes between the two generations. Below, see the departments analyzed in this comparison:
cameras
Starting with the cameras, we can say that POCO didn’t want to change the winning team and therefore decided to keep practically the same settings. In both devices we have a triple configuration at the rear, led by a sensor 64MP main with automatic focus and optical image stabilization, combined with a 8 MP ultrawide with f/2.2 aperture and finally, a 2 MP macro with f/2.4 aperture. Both record video at up to 4K a 60 fps. For selfies, the company removed the front lens from 20 MP to LITTLE F4 and included one of 16 MP not LITTLE F5.
In general, we can say that there is a technical tie when it comes to cameras. The results achieved on both devices are very similar, with very vibrant colors, a white balance that sometimes leaves something to be desired, especially when there are many colors in the image, and a very interesting level of sharpness.

hardware and performance
The hardware and performance department is often where the differences are most evident. The POCO F5, for example, comes equipped with the brand new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 — 2.91GHz ota-core processor, Adreno 725 GPU and 4nm lithography. Its predecessor came with the Snapdragon 870 5G — 3.2GHz octa-core, Adreno 650 and 7nm construction. In terms of memory, we have options for 8 GB e 12 GB RAM in both cases, as well as 256 GB storage.
In all benchmark tests carried out by the main platforms on the market, the POCO F5 processor is ahead, boasting more performance and energy efficiency. In games, the LITTLE F5 proved to be more efficient, the top 1 em PUBGhitting 90 FPS and 100% stability, top 2 em Tower of Fantasywith 75 FPS and 96 stability, and top 4 em Genshin Impact, with 93 stability at 59 FPS. In the latter, the POCO F4 ranked 9th.

Battery
In terms of battery, POCO also took the opportunity to enhance the POCO F5. Although only the Pro model has the unprecedented technology for wireless charging, the “normal” POCO F5 also brought a better energy tank than its predecessor, now with 5.000 mAh. The POCO F4 has only 4.500 mAh. Despite the difference in capacity, both support loads of up to 67 watts.
So far, only the POCO F4 has passed our battery tests, which, by the way, turned out to be an efficient model. He is currently the 27th best battery smartphone ever tested by Oficina da Net, surviving an exhausting process of more than 7h45 of testing that involves running videos, games and browsing social networks.

design and build
This topic is not meant to say which model is the most beautiful, as each user has their own personal taste. In fact, we like to evaluate the construction, such as the choice of material, safety features and additional functions. For example, the POCO F5 has a plastic back, unlike the POCO F4, which came with a glass finish to give it a more premium look.
As for the design itself, the POCO F5 has also abandoned the rectangular module that organizes the rear lenses in a large circular platform, and now has its lenses housed individually, which in itself already makes it more striking. Both have protection IP53capable of withstanding a certain amount of dust and water, but cannot be immersed in it.
Around its body, the manufacturer offers the connector USB 2.0system of stereo speakers, volume control and power button on the side. As for the differences, the POCO F5 fingerprint reader is integrated into the screen, while the POCO F4 is next to the on/off button. Furthermore, POCO has brought back the P2 connector for 3.5mm headphone jacks, features absent in its predecessor.

Bodies
On screen we also have few changes. The manufacturer preferred to maintain the size of 6.67 inches in its new release, which also has the same technology AMOLED of your predecessor. Both have a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 120Hz refresh rateprotection Gorilla Glass 5 against scratches and some kinds of accidental drops, support HDR10+, 68B Colors e Dolby Vision for greater color quality and immersiveness.
The only difference between the two panels is that the POCO F5 has lost some of its brightness, falling from a peak of 1.300 nits do LITTLE F4 for 1.000 nits in the current model. In addition, both have the same format of rounded corners and a small hole at the top of the display to house the front camera.

Prices
Launched in June last year, the POCO F4 arrived costing BRL 2,900 in the full version, with 8 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage. Today, this same version can already be found in the range of R$ 2,600. The POCO F5 was launched this Tuesday (9) for something close to R$ 1.650 and is available for purchase only by importing from China.

POCO F5 vs POCO F4: what has changed between generations?
Analyzing each of the departments, we can point out what are the main differences between the two generations of the POCO F line. POCO F5 performs better in games thanks to its new processor Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, in addition to a more complete construction, such as the P2 connector for headphones returning after being absent in the POCO F4. In addition, POCO was right to place the fingerprint reader on the screen in this year’s model.
The POCO F4, for now, is better on screen and battery, in addition to practically tying in cameras. Its price remains high, even though almost a year has passed since its launch. In any case, if there are two devices to choose from on a table, opt for the POCO F5, which maintained the qualities of the F4 and improved what could be improved.
