What is the implementation rate of the Dabaa station project in Egypt?

Egypt – Medhat Sabiq, a consultant at the Russian “Titan” company working on the Dabaa nuclear power plant project, revealed that work on the project is progressing in full swing, in the four phases of the project.

The expert in radiation energy sciences and professor of nuclear energy explained to RT that the implementation rate in the first and second phases reached 30%, while the implementation rate in the third and fourth phases reached 20%, indicating that these percentages are very good and reflect the speed of work within the project.

He pointed out that the Russian side and the Russian experts are working continuously without vacations or interruptions, in addition to working around the clock in order to quickly complete the project.

He stressed that the Russian side seeks to speed up the implementation of the project in accordance with the latest techniques and advanced technology, especially since it represents great importance for cooperation between Egypt and Russia.

He revealed that the project has the highest standards of safety and security, which confirms its importance in providing clean energy to Egypt, and working to benefit from it to support the Egyptian state’s plans in this regard.

On November 19, 2015, Egypt and Russia signed a cooperation agreement to establish an atomic energy station at an investment cost of $25 billion, which Russia provided a soft government loan to Cairo.

The Dabaa station will include four “3+” generation reactors operating with pressurized water, with a total capacity of 4,800 megawatts, 1,200 megawatts each, and the first reactor is scheduled to be launched in 2028.
