Despite the investigations of scientists in Wuhan (China), the cradle of the pandemic, there is still no certainty. But work carried out by the Pasteur Institute of Laos makes it possible to better understand the occurrence of the epidemic.
According to the researchers, bats could be the source of the spread of the virus to humans. To reach this conclusion, the scientists analyzed the samples collected from different species of bats in northern Laos. They detected viruses close to Sars-Cov-2, the scientific name of the virus causing Covid-19, in bats.
